River shrimp is commonly known as the Ohio shrimp or Ohio river shrimp, and is a species of freshwater shrimp found in rivers throughout the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean drainage basins of North America.
It is the most well known of all North American freshwater shrimp, and is most commonly used as bait for commercial fishing.
So can bearded dragons eat river shrimp?
Unfortunately they can’t at all. They just don’t have the ability to digest it properly and like many foods can cause them to have impaction. This is where the food cannot move through their digestive tract and cause them a lot of problems.
Impaction is one of the most frequent causes of death for a bearded dragon.
So river shrimp is a food to avoid as far as bearded dragons are concerned.
