Can Bearded Dragons Eat Madagascar Hissing cockroaches?

Madagascar hissing cockroaches are also known as Hissing cockroaches or Hissers. They are one of the largest species of cockroach, and can measure up to three inches in length when they are fully mature.

Their hissing sound is produced when they force air through their respiratory openings which are called spiracles found on each segment of their abdomen.

As the name suggests, they are native of the island of Madagascar. They are found on logs that are rotten and thrive in dark and damp environments. They feed on vegetable matter.

They are one of 20 known species of hissing cockroaches found in Madagascar. They do not have any wings and very good at climbing. They can even scale glass if they want to.

They can also be kept as exotic pets and need a small living area with not much light.

So can bearded dragons eat Madagascar hissing cockroaches?

Yes they can eat them. They are a good treat for them.

Make sure they are fed those that are purchased from pet stores and that they are from reputable breeders. They can be purchased in bulk from pet stores such as this one.

Don’t feed them any that are caught in the wild at all (if that’s possible?) as they maybe carrying parasites that could harm a bearded dragon
